Loretta grabbed this Kent cruiser for a song, and completely rebuilt and painted it, then brought it to us for final tuning and accessory installation. This little bike had the ugliest pink painted wheels etc. you wouldn’t know it was the same bike! She probably spent what a new one would cost, but gained a very personalized bike, incredible experience and the satisfaction of repair, versus replace. It is also a way better runner than anything you’d buy off the department store floor! THIS IS HOW IT’S DONE! Thank you Loretta!

This is the last we’re saying on tire mounting and finishing at the valve. This wheel will only accept finishing at the valve with a tight tire. The valve absolutely will prevent the tire from settling into the drop center, which will prevent easy installation.

QUICK RELEASE DOESN’T MEAN QUICK GUESSWORK!

That little lever does more than you might think!

A properly adjusted quick-release skewer uses cam pressure to securely clamp your wheel in place. It’s not just a lever you spin until it feels tight.

A few seconds of understanding how it works can make a big difference in keeping your wheel secure.

Still think you NEED tire levers? 😏🚲

Our last tire-mounting video sparked quite the debate, so we’re back with another one!

This time it’s a tubeless Panaracer GravelKing. No tire levers, no tricks—just proper technique.

The secret? Keep that tire bead down in the center channel of the rim. It makes all the difference.

Some tire and rim combinations are tougher than others, but knowing the technique can save you a lot of frustration.

No tire levers? No problem! 🚲

You watched Darren install a Continental Gatorskin without tire levers. Now it’s Lauren’s turn!

Same stubborn tire. Same technique. Different mechanic.

The secret? Keep that tire bead down in the center channel of the rim to create enough slack to finish the job.

Sometimes it’s not about having more tools. It’s about knowing the tricks of the trade!

Installing a Continental Gatorskin without tire levers!

Gatorskins have a reputation for being stubborn, but with the right technique, you can get one mounted using just your hands.

The trick is keeping the tire bead down in the center channel of the rim to create a little extra slack.

No tire levers. No special tools. Just technique!

Is your bike chain worn out?

Your chain might look perfectly fine, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worn.

A simple chain-wear checker can tell you when it’s time for a replacement. Catching chain wear early can help prevent unnecessary wear on your cassette and chainrings.

Here’s a quick look at how to check yours!

V-Brakes Not Centered? Adjust the Spring Tension!
Lauren shows how the small adjustment screws on the brake arms can be used to balance the tension and center the V-brakes so both sides move evenly.

It’s a simple adjustment that can fix an annoying brake rub in just a few minutes. Repair is resistance!
