Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of General Hellativity (David Kornreich) as they grieve such an unexpected loss. General Hellativity’s influence reached far throughout the roller derby community. He worked hard to become a skilled official and was a mentor to many, and a dear friend to many more. He believed in kindness as shown by one of his favorite quotes that he wore on his helmet. So in General Hellativity’s memory, may we all “Be excellent to each other.”

Black Rose Junior Roller Derby is kicking off their next Level 2 session, and they're looking for young skaters ready to help grow the garden!

The Level 2 program is perfect for kids who already have some basic skating skills and are ready to start learning more about roller derby, teamwork, and gameplay.

The past 2 weeks brought lots of firsts for our Roses. Last weekend Boo Berry played her first adult game with the All Stars after aging up from Juniors. This weekend Mothmadness and Flying Fish, also former junior skaters, played their first adult game and Pole Kitty played her first game EVER with the Riveters! Congrats to all!

Thank you Free State Roller Derby for a fun game yesterday! The hits were big, the feet were fast, and there were smiles all over the track. Thank you to all of the skaters, officials, volunteers, and fans who made it a great day!
