🌧️ Rain, mud, awkward angles… sounds like a pretty good day for 2-Gun!

This weekend’s match gave our shooters plenty to work through. That’s part of what makes 2-Gun such a fun discipline — it’s not just about how well you can shoot. You’re navigating a stage with both rifle and pistol, finding ways to get into (and out of!) unconventional shooting positions, working through awkward angles, planning your movements, and solving problems on the fly.

And when you add a rainy range into the mix? Well… now you’ve got a few extra problems to solve. 😂

Despite the weather, everyone came ready to shoot, adapt, and have a great time. A huge thank you to our shooters and volunteers for making another great match happen!

We’ve got ONE more 2-Gun match left this season — and we’re ending things with a spooky twist. 👻🎃

☀️ That’s a wrap on Outdoor Ladies Night for the summer!

We closed out the outdoor season with 14 shooters joining us for our final Ladies Night of the summer! It was a great evening of safe shooting, learning, and enjoying some time on the range together.

As firearm ownership among women continues to grow, opportunities for education, training, and hands-on experience are more important than ever. Education is a crucial part of responsible firearm ownership for everyone — whether your firearm is for personal protection, recreation, competition, or simply because you want to be comfortable and capable around one.

We’re proud to provide a welcoming environment where women can ask questions, learn, and build confidence — and we’re especially glad to be a small part of making that happen 🫶

A huge thank you to the volunteer instructors who helped throughout the evening, shared their knowledge, and kept everyone safe. We couldn’t make nights like these happen without you!

But Ladies Night isn’t going anywhere — we’re just heading indoors. 🎯

Join us September 19–20 for one of HHA’s longstanding match traditions! Four 900 matches featuring rimfire and centerfire, shot at 25 yards with Lewis Classification.

🛍️ Sportsmen’s Yard Sale/Flea Market — September 19
While the match is underway, come browse hunting, fishing, shooting, reloading and other sportsmen’s gear from 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

The yard sale is open to the public for vending and shopping, so bring a friend and see what you can find!

Despite a wet weekend, more than 100 shooters came out to compete in our monthly U.S. Practical Shooting Assn. (USPSA) match. From seasoned competitors to first-time participants, the dedication and sportsmanship on display made for another fantastic weekend on the range.

A huge thank you to our match staff, volunteers, and everyone who helped make the event run smoothly despite the challenging conditions. Your commitment is what makes these matches possible.

Congratulations to the 7 newest NRA - National Rifle Association of America Certified Range Officers, who successfully completed the July 26 certification course at Harrisburg Hunters’ Association!

A sincere thank you to Jim Lambert for leading the class and sharing his knowledge and experience with our students. We’d also like to recognize Fred Rogers and John Kline for volunteering their time to assist throughout the course and help make the day a success.

One thing that makes these classes especially meaningful is that everyone involved—from the instructors to the assistants—volunteers their time. No one is paid to teach these courses. Course fees simply help cover the cost of training materials, with a small portion supporting Harrisburg Hunters’ Association programs and facilities that benefit our members and the shooting community.

By becoming NRA Certified Range Officers, these individuals have taken an important step toward promoting safe, responsible shooting and helping ensure our ranges remain safe and welcoming for everyone.

Congratulations again to our newest Range Officers, and thank you for your commitment to firearm safety and the shooting sports! 👏🇺🇸

The new barricades at PPC Range #2 are almost ready—but we could use a few extra hands and some extra muscle to get them across the finish line before this weekend’s Police Pistol Combat (PPC) match!

We’ll be working:
📅 Wednesday–Friday (July 29–31)
🕗 Starting around 8:00 AM each day

Whether you can stay all day or just stop by for an hour, your help would make a huge difference. The more volunteers we have, the better!
