SPIRITS SYNOPSIS

What’s on Tap: The Spirits (5-3-1, 11 pts) play The Pestilence (6-1-1, 13 pts) in a Foundry Adult Hockey League inter-C Division contest at Klick Lewis Arena in Annville, Pa. The puck drops at 7:40 p.m.

Home Away from Home: With ongoing mechanical issues limiting Twin Ponds Ice Arena to one playing surface, the Spirits have been rerouted to Klick Lewis Arena for the third time in their last four games.

New Wrinkle: After playing in the C1 Division last season, the Spirits have been reassigned to C2, joining the Flocking Flamingos, Lot Lizards, Night Owls, and Twister. With all five teams’ schedules including crossover games against C1 as well as the newly created C3 Division, the C2 clubs are scheduled for 15 regular season games against 14 different opponents as all three subdivisions house five members.

Rest Assured: The Spirits are coming off a nine-day respite after playing three games over an eight-day span July 6-13. Going back further, the Spirits played seven games in less than a month.

Last Time Out: The Spirits are coming off an 8-4 loss to the Flocking Flamingos on July 13. Matt Townsend (1G-2A) and Rich Brookes (1G-1A) recorded multiple points in a game where the Spirits allowed season highs in goals and shots on goal (45).

Head to Head: The Spirits have compiled a 9-2-0 regular season record against The Pestilence in a series that goes back to 2016 when tonight’s opponent was known as Zombie Apocalypse. Since the series resumed two summers ago, the Spirits are 6-1-0 versus The Pestilence in the regular season (1-0 in the playoffs). The teams have not met since March 24, 2025, a 6-3 Spirits victory.
