Susquehanna Dance Academy proudly presents its 8th annual June show, Salute to the Stars! This variety dance show will feature ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop performances set to music by some of the greatest artists of all time. The show opens with a patriotic ballet to John Philip Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. The first act will also include dances inspired by selections from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. In the second act, audiences will enjoy an energetic mix of performances to music by Queen, The Beatles, Madonna, James Brown, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, and more.

The dancers, under the direction of Artistic Director Kimberly Klick, Associate Artistic Director Brittany Ross, and instructors Kate Manley, Kristin Kellum-Shearer, and Chiara Meyers, will take the stage on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sunoco Performance Theater at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. Tickets are reserved seating and are now available to the public! Tickets are $20 in advance, $22 at the door. For tickets, call 717-461-3909. In-studio rehearsals were a success this past weekend! Our dancers worked incredibly hard as they put the finishing touches on their dances, and we are so proud of not only their dedication, but also the support they showed one another. We can't wait to see them shine on stage this weekend!

A huge thank you to all of our parents, grandparents, and family members who helped make in-studio rehearsals run so smoothly! From getting dancers to rehearsal on time to keeping them fed, hydrated, and supported, your efforts make all the difference. We are incredibly grateful for your encouragement, patience, and commitment. Thank you for being such an important part of our dance family—we couldn't do it without you!

🌟 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟

Congratulations to our graduate, Sarah Frey, who graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School this year!

Sarah first started dancing at Harrisburg Academy of Dance at age 4 and then continued her training at Susquehanna Dance Academy. Throughout the years, she has excelled in ballet, tap, and jazz, becoming an accomplished dancer and frequently serving as a student demonstrator.

During her time at Bishop McDevitt, Sarah was actively involved in both academics and extracurricular activities. She was a cheerleader, a member of the National Honor Society, Math National Honor Society, and Spanish National Honor Society, and participated in both Book Club and Healthcare Careers Club. Her hard work and dedication earned her an impressive ranking of 6th in her graduating class.

When asked to reflect on her time at SDA, Sarah said, "One thing I love about SDA is how close-knit it is. It feels like you are friends with everyone, and I will miss the connections I had with my instructors and fellow dancers."

Sarah, it has been a joy to watch you grow into not only a talented and graceful dancer, but also an outstanding young woman. We are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished and are excited to see what the future holds as you continue your education studying biology at William & Mary. Congratulations, and best wishes on this exciting next chapter!
