Recycle Bicycle Harrisburg Recycle Bicycle provides bicycles to people.

We provide residents of the greater Harrisburg area – especially those of limited means – with safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally friendly transportation in the form of bicycles. We do this by:

• Collecting and restoring used, damaged and abandoned bicycles.
• Using the restoration process to teach bicycle repair and maintenance to our earn-a-bike recipients.
•. Teaching proper bicycle safety and etiquette to all of our recipients.
• Providing safety education and maintenance services to community events and organizations.
• Advocating for safe and equitable access to transportation infrastructure for cyclists.

McKenna Reese and her dad Jason, collected 94 of the 212 bikes we picked up from Gettysburg. McKenna, who graduates from Delone Catholic High School next spring, 2027, also raised money for Recycle Bicycle. With the money, she purchased "27" new helmets for RBH to give away and donated the remainder, $300, to us. We wish McKenna a wonderful senior year! And thanks for volunteering with us!

Hats off to our volunteers for picking up 212 bicycles from today. Once again the group worked at collecting bikes. We are so grateful for the generosity and support. Big shout out to Glen, Murray, Bob and Brandon for making the trips to collect the bikes. And thanks to all the volunteers who helped move them out of the trucks and trailer. ❤️

We are so grateful! Thank you so much!

Thanks to everyone who donated, helped to collect, or spread the word about our Recycle Bicycle collection today! With the help of our friends at South Mountain Velo and Jason and McKenna Reese, we collected 212 bikes and lots of equipment for cycling enthusiasts!

It’s amazing to see so many people come together to make this type of impact. Many people will have transportation and recreational needs met thanks to your kindness and hard work!

Sometimes we just have to share the interesting bicycles that come in the shop. Recently a bike came in with bad rear brakes. Our volunteer Chris was on the job. The front end handlebars are adorned with an amazing collection of items, including a working light and proper reflector. The gentleman who owns the bike rides this way all year, not just for spooky season. Now he is safe on the streets again! We love bicycles!

Happy Labor Day weekend! We are parking bikes at Harrisburg Kipona Festival. We are near the Walnut Street bridge. Park outside the city and ride your bike to the festival. Bring your bike lock and we will watch your bike.
