Did you know the William Field Memorial Trail (Hart-Montague Trail) was the first paved rail trail in Michigan in 1989?

Did you know the Friends of the Pentwater Hart Trail have been working to connect Hart to Pentwater via paved multi-use trail since 2015?

Did you know Phase 1 of the Pentwater-Hart Trail is complete? This is the paved shoulder on Monroe at Longbridge Road that takes you into Pentwater.

Did you know Phase 2 will begin in the spring of '27? This is the recently awarded Safe Routes to School section which will begin at Water and Johnson Street and will end at 72nd Ave and West Tyler Road. This important section will provide a safe paved alternative to kids to get to and from school via multi-use trail.

If you love riding a bike, rollerblading, running, walking, skipping and any other healthy form of exercise, come be a part of the 3rd annual The Ride H.O.M.E. (Hart, Oceana Montague Experience). This event not only celebrates the William Field Memorial Trail, it serves as an important fund raising component for the Pentwater Hart Trail endowment fund via a portion of every entry being donated.

Enjoy a self guided out and back event with aid stations throughout! Your entry fee gets you a custom t-shirt, snacks at the aid stations and post event snacks.

It's getting closer!! The 3rd annual The Ride H.O.M.E. (the Hart, Oceana, Montague Experience) will be Saturday October 3rd, 2026 from 9:00am - 2:00pm held on the scenic William Field Memorial Trail (Hart-Montague Trail).

Whether you start in downtown Hart, Montague/White Lake or any point in between, you'll have aid stations every 4-5 miles stocked with sweet and salty snacks, apples from Renhack Orchards, Bananas from Hansen Foods and bottled water from Hometown Pharmacy!

The Ride H.O.M.E. contributes a portion of the proceeds to the endowment fund for the Pentwater Hart Trail which is a group that's been working since 2015 to connect Hart and Pentwater with a paved multi-use trail!

Tell your family, friends, co-workers and anyone who loves cycling in a safe, clean and inviting location, the Hart-Montague Trail on Saturday October 3rd is the place to be!!!

This is a milestone to recognize and celebrate!

This Safe Routes To School (SRTS) not only provides a safe paved trail for kids to navigate to and from school, it’s a key piece towards the effort to connect Hart to Pentwater via trail.

If you use and love the Hart - Montague trail we could use your support in getting the word out that Hart and Pentwater need this multi-use trail.

Whether you cycle, run, walk, etc., a safe paved trail helps promote health and wellness!

After nearly five years of planning, revisions, and perseverance, the Pentwater Hart Trail are celebrating a major milestone. The City of Hart has been awarded Safe Routes to School funding for Phase 2 of the Pentwater Hart Trail! This project will extend the trail through the City of Hart, connecting to the William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail and providing a safer route past the Hart school campus. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2027.

The award marks an important step toward the group's long-term vision of creating a continuous shared-use trail connecting Hart and Pentwater. Planning is already underway for Phase 3, a 5.2-mile segment that will complete the connection.

Congratulations to the Friends of the Pentwater Hart Trail, the City of Hart, and everyone who has championed this project over the years! Your persistence is paying off, and Michigan's trail network is stronger because of it.

We're under two months away from the 3rd annual The Ride H.O.M.E. (Hart, Oceana, Montague Experience) held on the William Field Memorial Trail each October.

Whether you ride hundreds of miles or just a few, this ride celebrates the first paved rail trail in the State of Michigan.

Included in your registration is a custom designed t-shirt, snacks and goodies at each aid station (four if you ride all the way to Montague!) and post event snacks!

Bring your family, friends, acquaintances, whomever you like to spend time with doing cool things!
