It's turtle season, folks! ๐ข
Right now, turtles will be making the most dangerous journey of their life - crossing the road to lay their eggs! Road mortality is a major threat to turtles, especially when some of them take 17 years to lay eggs.
Please see the information attached on how to be a friend to turtles.๐

Please remember for baby wildlife, alone does not mean abandoned!! ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ฟ
It's baby animal season! Here are a few helpful tips in case you find a young animal that seems abandon. ๐ข๐
The best chance for an animal's survival is in the wild. The instinct to help is good, but it's important to have the correct information. When in doubt, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. ๐

Help Shape Your Parks! ๐ฟ๐ณ
Every five years, our Parks and Recreation department develops a Master Plan that establishes goals and priorities to guide department decisions over the next five years.
Part of this process involves gathering public input. We ask that you take a few minutes to complete our community survey. Your responses will remain anonymous and will help shape the future of our parks, facilities, and special events!
View and complete the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WC2V5HS
We will also hold three public input sessions throughout the summer for anyone who would like to attend. All three sessions will be held at 6:00 pm on the following days:
โข Thursday, July 9 at Central Park Pavilion
โข Thursday, July 30 at Harris Nature Center
โข Thursday, August 13 at Towner Road Park
More information about these events can be found at www.meridian.mi.us/events. For questions, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 517.853.4600 or [email protected].
