It’s Recital Time!!! We would like to take a moment to congratulate all of our dancers on a great year filled with twirls, leaps, laughs and love. We at the YWCA School of dance are so proud of their hard work this year!
During picture week we had a young dancer so excited that she got to watch the big girls perform their dance. She said they had a way more complicated routine than she did. Turned out, she was talking about the 2nd-3rd graders, not the high schoolers. This puts what we strive to achieve at the YWCA School of Dance in to perspective.
At a time that is super exciting, but can also be a bit stressful and nerve wracking, we want you all to keep in mind that we believe ALL of our dancers are stars. Whether it’s their first year or their 14th, they are brave, they are graceful and they are beautiful (& handsome)! It’s so easy to get caught up in the loudness of the negatives of what others think and say, because, sadly, compliments are not always as loud. But to those younger dancers, the “big girls” are amazing. And you lead them by example of how you act and perform. Every dancer that walks out on that stage is a success because they started something and worked to master their skills and are brave enough to complete it on stage in front of hundreds of people.
Congratulations to all of our dancers. We are proud of you and please remember that there are always people out there that look up to you.
