Today isn’t about sports cards. It isn’t about sales, new releases, or what’s sitting on the shelves.
It’s about remembering.
We were old enough to remember exactly what that day felt like — the confusion, the fear, the disbelief, and then the days that followed when our entire country seemed to slow down and stand together.
Twenty-five years later, some of the details may fade with time, but the people we lost never should.
The firefighters who ran into the buildings while everyone else was trying to get out. The police officers, first responders, and ordinary people who put someone else before themselves. The passengers who never made it home. The families who had their lives changed forever.
And I think about the communities that came together afterward. Strangers helping strangers. Neighbors checking on neighbors. People putting differences aside and remembering that, at the end of the day, we were all Americans.
That part stays with me.
Owning Coach’s has given me a front-row seat to something I value deeply — community. Every day, I get to see kids, parents, grandparents, collectors, and friends walk through our doors. We talk baseball, football, cards and everything in between. But what makes this place special has never really been the cards.
It’s the people.
So today, from our family at Coach’s Sports Cards to yours, we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes, and think about the families who still carry that loss every single day.
September 11, 2001.
We remember. We honor. We never forget.
