This should help eliminate some of our "cart path only" days!

Phase 5 Underway!

Phase 5 of the green reconstruction at Timberton Golf Club has officially begun!

We started sprigging on Wednesday, August 12, and expect to complete the sprigging process today, Thursday, August 13.

Once the sprigs are laid down, we cut them into the green surface, roll the greens, and begin an intensive watering program. The greens will be watered every hour while the sun is out to give the new sprigs the moisture they need to establish and begin growing.

We’re excited to see these new putting surfaces take shape and appreciate everyone’s patience and support as we move through this important phase of the renovation.

Timberton Golf Greens Renovation Update

We have almost completed Phase 3 of our greens renovation project, which includes applying the new greens mix, spreading it, and tilling it into the existing green surfaces.

Beginning Wednesday, August 5, we will start Phase 4. This phase involves sterilizing all green surfaces and will continue through Tuesday, August 11. During this time, the golf course and all practice facilities will be closed.

Once sterilization is complete, we will begin the final grading of the green surfaces before moving into the sprigging phase.

Timberton Greens Reconstruction Update

We’re excited to share that the tilling process has officially begun! This is another important step in the reconstruction of our new putting greens.

Weather permitting, we expect to complete the tilling process sometime next week. We appreciate everyone’s patience and support as we continue making steady progress on the project.

Greens Renovation Update

While our greens renovation continues to make great progress, the team at Timberton Golf is also taking advantage of this time to improve other areas of the golf course.

We are currently sand capping traditionally low and wet areas throughout the course to improve drainage and playing conditions. These improvements will help us provide better golf cart access during wet weather and create a firmer, more enjoyable experience for golfers.

In addition, we are aerifying and leveling our tee boxes to promote healthier turf, improve playability, and provide a more consistent surface.

Today, we will also be applying a herbicide to control weeds throughout the course. As the treatment works, you may notice some temporary discoloration of the fairways. This is a normal part of the process and is expected to be short-lived as the turf recovers.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and support as we continue investing in the long-term improvement of Timberton Golf. We look forward to providing an even better golf experience for all of our golfers.

Timberton Golf – Greens Renovation Update

We are excited to share another progress update on our greens renovation project!

To date, we have successfully completed the removal of the old putting surfaces on 11 holes, keeping the project on schedule. Our team continues to make excellent progress as we prepare for the next phase of construction.

In addition to the greens renovation, we are taking advantage of this time to make improvements throughout the golf course. The material from the existing greens is being repurposed to sand-cap low-lying areas, which will improve drainage and allow golf carts to remain off the cart paths more often during wet conditions. These improvements will enhance both playability and the overall golfer experience for years to come.

We are also using this downtime to sand-cap our teeing areas, providing better turf conditions, improved drainage, and healthier playing surfaces across the course.

This is the last weekend to play a round of golf on the “old” greens at Timberton! Work will begin on Monday for the course “remodel” and our temporary greens will be in play.
Come out and play a round to see what’s happening as we make changes to bring a new golf experience to Timberton in Fall 2026.
