Thank you to everyone that came out to watch and support our dancers at their recital yesterday ✨❤️✨ We had firsts, and lasts, and tears, and laughs all day long! I have watched them prepare all season to put on the best show they can for their biggest fans and watching from the wings made me, and all of the teachers, so proud of each and every one of them.
One of my favorite memories from this weekend was when our youngest group of dancers came out and absolutely stole the show! When they exited stage right to head back to their dressing room, they were met with a round of applause by our seniors. I was not prepared for the emotion I had in that moment! It’s the things like this, learned in between the pliès and the shuffle ball changes, and outside of any actual lesson plan, that trickle down and end up mattering most - the community, the respect, the admiration, and the support. We had alumni working backstage, popping in and out of the wings, not wanting to miss a second of what was happening. Parents volunteering to do anything and everything, and teachers doing whatever it is they can do to make sure “their kids” are ready to have the best time on recital day.
I am forever grateful to for laying the groundwork for what has become such a huge part of so many people’s lives, and I am humbled to continue the legacy, with this dream team (!!), of what KPDA is. Thank you to everyone that took this first year’s journey with me at the helm, and congratulations to you, KP, on 40 incredible years of excellence! ✨ Caity
