To get your clients better results, you often need to do more of what we know already works.
👉🏼 Whether your clients are beginners or advanced athletes, it's often sensible to design the majority of your programming around these six multi-joint movements:
1️⃣ Squat
2️⃣ Hinge
3️⃣ Lunge
4️⃣ Push
5️⃣ Pull
6️⃣ Carry/Core
Of course, there are countless different possibilties on how you could combine these movements, but next time you're overwhelmed by how many exercises are there, or you're spinning your wheels thinking of what to include/exclude in a program⏤bring it back to the basics.
The boring, unsexy fundamentals can never be emphasized enough.

The 80-20 rule, also known as the Pareto Principle, is a familiar mentality that asserts that 80% of outcomes (or outputs) result from 20% of all causes (or inputs) for any given event.
➡️ The 80-20 Rule for being a great personal trainer:
1️⃣ Client safety is #1.
2️⃣ Get your clients sustainable results.
3️⃣ Be reliable and keep your word.
The most controllable being the last one.
We can think that clients want 24/7 support or a lightning fast response to their questions, but what they really want is predictability.
The just need clear expectations on what they can expect from you and what you can expect from them. This brings clarity and certainty, but most importantly: trust.
The more your clients trust you, the better everyone's experience will be.
So, this is your sign to build coaching systems that encourage safety, results, and reliability⏤your clients (and wallet) will thank you!

🗣 "I don't even need to rest. I'm ready for my next set!"
Ever hear a client say this shortly after finishing their previous set?
Or maybe one of your online clients keeps mentioning that they're adding more sets to what you already gave them.
👉🏼 This is a straightforward indicator that your clients are not working hard enough within their prescribed sets. Their intensity is not at a sufficient level.
This is your job as a trainer to coach them how to lift with proper intention and execution. It will motivate them, get them better results, and reduce injury risk.
"3 sets of 10 reps" can be really easy or really hard⏤intensity is the difference.

➡️ Tough question: When's the last time you used the money you got from clients and bought something for them instead of yourself?
I don't necessarily mean a gift, although that's never a bad idea.
I'm suggesting to make an investment into your clients' coaching experience (and, at the same time, improve your client retention).
🔹Hiring someone on Fiverr or Upwork to design educational client materials
🔹Reaching out to a chef for healthy recipes around your target market
🔹Getting a VA to go above and beyond on customer support
🔹Partnering with a supplement/meal prep company to give your clients discounts
🔹Creating highly functional, aesthetic, organized, and professional-looking workout trackers, nutrition trackers, habit trackers, and exercise library*
None of these are "necessary," but I'd bet you would feel more confident charging a higher price point if any of these were added to your existing coaching service.
Not to mention, your current and future clients would be thrilled knowing you're going above and beyond what's "necessary" for their success.
Give that some thought.

The hip and the shoulder are both ball and socket joints that have cartilage, ligaments, labrum, and a surrounding capsule. There are some differences between these joints that influence the treatment for injuries and painful conditions. The hip is much more constrained or inherently stable than the shoulder. Which joint motion do they not perform?

I had a friend tell me recently that he picked up running and lifting as part of his new workout regimen. He was trying to get in-shape, so that seemed like a logical start.
He said that he felt great while he was running, but could barely walk the next day because his ankles hurt so bad.
And when he went to lift, he went with his military friend who made him go all out. Again, leaving him with crippling soreness the next several days.
Yet, he was still confused when he told me he just couldn't find the motivation to stay consistent.
I asked him bluntly, "Why don't you just... not go so hard? If you're working out so hard on Monday that it's preventing you from working out again until 4-5 days later, your intensity is too high. It's not worth it."
To me, it was obvious. But, to him, it was revolutionary.
👉🏼 The point: encourage recovery just as much as you do hard work.
The work is ineffective if there is no recovery. Use real life examples like this to help get the point across.

We're constantly trying to be more ⏤ add more, make more, do more, etc.
But what about the inverse of that?
How could you improve through subtraction?
Instead of a to-do list, make a not-to-do list:
❌ checking your phone first thing in the morning
❌ unintentional social media use
❌ avoiding the dishes/laundry/small tasks
❌ neglecting admin work in your business
❌ being so hard on yourself every time you make a mistake
❌ Constantly comparing your progress to others'
Oftentimes, refinement requires removal. We don't always need to plant more seeds.
👉🏼 What could you subtract from your life/business to make it better?
