The is beautiful in its simplicity and a must to master for any strength training program. Like all movements in SMASH, it starts with a good setup; feet under the hips, toes pointed slightly out, belly tight, chest up, and head neutral. Throughout the whole movement focus on great posture and keeping equal pressure on all four corners of your feet (big toe, little toe, both sides of heel). Begin by breaking at the hip and bending your knees. Lower your seat cushion toward your heels and let your knees bend towards your toes, use your thigh muscles to guide yourself down until your hip crease drops below your knees. On the way up, push through your heels to use your to return to the start position.
