After an opening round loss, Lexi Burton bounces back with a win!

Best of luck to former Hays High great, Lexi Burton as she competes today at the NCAA women’s championships in Iowa!

After 2 days of Battling at the State Championships the lady Indians finished in 7th place as a team and had 4 placers.

5th @ 145 - Timber Lovewell
3rd @ 190 - Eleanor Stoffel

The Indian Boys wrapped up a successful state tournament. Out of 7 qualifiers, 5 wrestlers made the podium. This is also the first time in 13 years that the boys team has finished in the top 10 in team points.

Going into the medal rounds Audrey Yarmer, Reese Vehige and Eleanor Stoffel will compete for 3rd place while Timber Lovewell will go for 5th

The consolation rounds have been tough for the lady Indians. Timber Lovewell is the only girl to work thru the back of the bracket to earn a state medal. Timber is now a 2x state placer for the Indians

Gaven Deneault and Archer Amrein pick up big wins in the blood round and are now state placers! HHS boys have 5 state placers which is the most since 2012!

These girls aren’t done yet! Chassidy Carlisle, Crystal Walter’s, Lexi Barnett, Audrey Gutierrez and Emily Casas all win their consolation match to keep their state championships alive for tomorrow! Unfortunately sophomore Chloe Robben fell short in her match, but has had a great season

Advancing to the semi finals and now guaranteed state placers are Jonathan Rigler (now a three time placer), Jaxon Chartier, and Tanner Geist!

Finishing of the quarter finials with a Fall! Eleanor Stoffel is now a 2x state placer and will wrestle in the semifinals later tonight!
