Beautiful morning, cool temps, a few clouds, gorgeous sunrise, green grass, and 3 weanlings coming up for breakfast. So much to be thankful for. Have a blessed and peaceful day. Cheers.

Beautiful morning and iiittt'ss Ffrriiiiddaayy! We got 65/100 rain last night/early morning. Mares are out in the meadow grazing on the wet sweet grass. They're working on filling in their top line. 😁
Our farrier came out to get an early start on trimming and shoeing. He did the young ones first. Victor-E needed trimmed too and that's the one getting his rear foot picked up. Then he got started on Gunnar, who is getting shoes. My part is to wrap the feathers out of the way. Nothing fancy but it makes trimming and shoeing a little easier. I'll do the same on John when it's his turn. Have a peaceful day. Cheers

Decided to celebrate getting some rain this a.m. by working with our 2yr olds that we've been ignoring. Eden needs desensitized so I found a banner to work on her with while Michael worked with Victor-E on getting fitted in harness. These are the calm pictures, we did have a little excitement earlier. Enjoy the heat reprieve and give thanks for the rain we have received. Cheers
Looking for prairie hay bales. Large round or large square bales. Suitable for horses. Have located all the hay I need.
What to do on a hot day?? (110°F on the farm) You gather at the waterin' hole and stand around and let the wind blow over ya. Keeps most of the flies off too. We MIGHT get a couple drops of rain (15% chance) if it will drop a little more South. We'll take what we get, give thanks and ask for more. Stay cool and hydrated. Cheers
Good morning. It's starting out sunny and a bearable 80°F with a breeze from the South. Weanlings come in every morning for grain. They have to get halters on and lead to their spot before they get breakfast. They have calmed down a lot since a week ago. Even let us fly sprayed them. Manners, patience, acceptance what ever you want to call it, tie stalls are a great education tool for foals. Have a blessed day, stay cool and hydrated 😎 Cheers
Needed to move Waylon and Victor-E over to the mare pasture. Figured while the mares are distracted nickering at their babies, these two could slip in and get worked into the herd. In a couple weeks Waylon will go to his new home and Victor-E will need a new friend. I hope that will be Abby. Pray for more rain we sure could use it all over again. Cheers
