Hays Pickleball Club, I have been contacted by the Wild West Fest folks. They are wanting to have some of our members available to give lessons/introduce kids and adults to the game of pickleball. Their idea is for some of us to be available from 5:30 till dark on July 3, 5 & 6. Do we have enough volunteers to make this happen? Please let me know asap. (Justin)

Hays Pickleball Club, if you remember, a couple of months ago, I sent out a survey to see what the interest would be for an indoor pickleball facility in Hays. I am happy to let you know there was enough initial interest to have a focus group of sorts with Kris Munsch (building owner) for those interested in participating. It would be great to get as many folks as possible there to continue to show interest. This meeting will take place at 5:30pm this coming Monday, 3/25 at 1400 E 8th St. It is at Restore and Clean building (old Keller furniture store). Hays Pickleball Club, I was contacted by someone who is thinking of putting 4 dedicated indoor courts in Hays. If this comes to fruition, the facility will have a proper surface, permanent nets, fence barriers etc. I offered to do some research via this FB group to help out. Hays Indoor Pickleball Courts Survey

Good morning, Hays Pickleballers.

I wanted to start a dialog around the future of Pickleball in Hays. Let me start by saying I am part of the problem I think needs fixed. Over the last few weeks, I have seen some trends that concern me and aren’t healthy for a positive Pickleball experience.

With a lack of courts and an ever-growing community of players brings unwanted problems. Too many times I have watched players come to the downtown courts just to be discouraged because many of us weren’t as welcoming as we should be. Those of us who have played for a while and traveled to other communities know better. We also have an issue with new players who don’t know the typical etiquette and hoard a court because they don’t know any different. I think that this needs to change. I believe there is a way to have various interest and skillset levels co-exist without people getting frustrated or worse, just not wanting to play.

I apologize as I know I could have been more welcoming but have been focusing on my own improvement and competition. So, the question is, is Hays ready for something like the attached image? Or are there other ideas?

Hays Pickleballers... there are a couple of new camps on the calendar down in Great Bend. Jeret Johnson does a great job and they are a lot of fun. I highly recommend them.

Hays Pickleballers... I was contacted by a traveler coming through Hays Monday and is looking for a game. He is looking to play Monday night and/or Tuesday morning. I won't be able to play either days but anyone out there want to?
