When grading a clients weekly adherence I usually give Cardio around 10% of total score. ⠀
⠀
I thought this post was very relevant, because this morning A client twisted his ankle yesterday and was worried that he wasn’t going to be able to see any more progress heading into the summer.⠀

We tightened up his macros, I re explained that⠀
Other things matter a lot more than how much cardio get done.⠀
⠀
Even if he needs to be in a boot, hes not a lost cause! ⠀

If you’re just getting started, focus on the things listed in the slides. ⠀
⠀
And if you don’t see any movement on the scale, in the mirror, or feel any different in clothes only then.. think about adding some cardio.⠀

At some point years ago, fitness folks made a push for calling it free or untracked rather than a cheat meal. The word cheat is just so negatively charged and it can potentially shape an unhealthy relationship with food. Personally.. I still slip up and call it “cheats” from time to time 🤐⠀⠀⠀

Without going too deep into it, Whether you call it cheat, treat, refeed, free meal.. at some point when you’re dieting you NEED to come out of a caloric deficit. ⠀⠀⠀

🧙♂️ This short break is important to help reset your hormones that are thrown out of whack from prolonged periods in a caloric deficit which If gone unchecked, will make it very difficult to continue to lose fat. ⠀⠀⠀
