🥂To Our Staff, and Another Year of Serving Community✨

As we move through another year of serving our community, we want to acknowledge that the work you do matters profoundly. It doesn't go unnoticed, and it is never taken for granted.

This past year, you've shown up consistently to build the kind of relationships that change lives.

You've welcomed shy youth who didn't know where they belonged and helped them discover their confidence. You've celebrated goals scored and personal records broken, alongside the important but quiet victories: a student improving attendance and grades, a participant learning to manage conflict without fighting, a young person finally feeling like they have adults in their life who have their back...

🥇 GAME CHANGERS 🥇
Boxing Champion
Erwin Olmeda

When Erwin joined the DSAL Boxing Academy, what he found was a life-changing: a community where he truly belongs. "DSAL has helped me become a better person and improve my overall mental health. I've realized that fighting at school and getting in trouble isn’t worth it... putting my energy into training and improving myself is a much better path."

Now he shows up with a positive attitude, and helps with the gym and younger boxers - part of the tight-knit family he's found there.

🥇 GAME CHANGERS 🥇
Soccer Champion
Jose Alfredo Garibaldi

Seven-year-old Jose has become the kind of teammate every coach hopes to develop. "My favorite part is being able to be with the other kids, helping them understand." Jose shares.

When he joined DSAL Soccer a year ago, he was shy and unsure. Now the confidence he's built on the field follows him everywhere - into the classroom where he pays better attention, and onto the playground. "There are less fights with the other kids, and more kids playing soccer - not just here but also in school."

Through soccer, Jose found his voice, his confidence, and his place in the community - and he's helping others find theirs too.
