Turkeys at the Hayward Plunge on Thanksgiving?
Reggie the turkey from Sulphur Creek won’t be swimming at the Plunge on Thursday but YOU CAN! Come out to the 18th Annual Karen Gordin Turkey Swim and Scholarship Fundraiser on Thursday, November 28th from 8:00 -11:00 a.m. at the Hayward Plunge. Karen was a beloved H.A.R.D. lifeguard who tragically passed away; aquatic staff have held the memorial swim in her honor for 18 years. The scholarship committee will award two scholarships starting at 9:00 a.m. followed by light refreshments. Come out to swim some laps, enjoy the morning and support a wonderful cause. Congrats to our aquatics team at the 2019 BAPPOA Lifeguard Games!
HARD sent two teams to compete in the Bay Area Public Pool Operates Association 2019 Lifeguard Games this past Sunday, August 4th at the San Ramon Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center. The Lifeguard Games is a completion that provides a great way for lifeguards to test their lifesaving and CPR skills, in a number of individual and team events, against other surrounding agencies in a fun yet competitive way.
We are pleased to announce that one of the HARD teams proudly took 3rd place overall, competing against 20 teams from all across the Bay Area!
