Tonight was our first Junior Company for 2026-27, and it was so productive and focused on how we can all be at our best in the studio, rehearsals, even while we are on breaks.
To start our time together we had several discussions about why we dance, what brings us here, and how we can make the most of this special time . As dancers, we are given a lot of time and many opportunities to better ourselves, not only as dancers, but also as people. As dancers, we spend many hours each week on technique and artistry, while that really is setting us up with many life skills for our future. We stand at the barre, on our own, but are together, sharing the same classes, in our own personal way. Together we experience the same classes, while being together, and on our own at the same time. The more we understand this, the deeper our experiences will be.
We created some guidelines together to remind ourselves of how to make the most of our shared time and experiences. Then we put it to paper and posted it in the entrance of Studio A.
Dancers, you are on a great path already. Enjoy your new year of JrCompany. We are happy to have you this year. It will be productive and focused time, well spent. You are off to a strong start.
