Some of these little ones earned their very first stripe this week, while others have been putting in the work for months and continue to move forward on their journey. Every promotion is earned, and every one is worth celebrating.

Common Ground was created with one goal in mind: bringing women together from different academies to share the mats, learn from incredible instructors, and build friendships that last long after the weekend is over.

This year, we’re honored to welcome:

Each instructor brings a unique perspective, years of experience, and a passion for helping others grow. We will have gi, no gi, and open mats to ensure you get everything you want out of the weekend!

Six months ago, we decided to try something new.

The goal was to encourage everyone to spend a little more time on the mats, and I think it’s safe to say you all delivered. ❤️

Watching so many of you make training a priority over the last six months has been pretty awesome. Anyone who made the Mat Monsters Club each month was entered into the raffle and the results are below!

🥋Some moments are just really fun to be a part of!

This weekend, Paige earned her first stripe and we couldn’t be happier for her. We’ve watched her show up, work hard, ask questions, and continue to improve week after week. She may be tiny, but she’s also becoming a bit of a nuisance on the mats… and we mean that as the highest compliment. 😂

Congratulations, Paige! This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to watch your journey continue. 💪

🥋 What a great kickoff to No-Gi Week!

Looking through these photos, we’re reminded just how much these kids grow over the years.

Some have been with us since we first opened our doors. Others are just beginning their jiu jitsu journey. No matter where they are, they’re all part of the same team.

One of the things we love most about our kids program is watching that journey unfold. Our youngest students start in Cubs, continue building confidence and skills in our Core class, and eventually become leaders in our Advanced class. Seeing those older kids encourage and set the example for the next generation is something really special.

To all of our OAJJ families, thank you for trusting us with your kids each week. We don’t take that responsibility lightly, and we feel incredibly lucky to be a small part of their journey.
