I had the chance to spend a few hours with my friends, Ron and Dee Morgan, yesterday. Their son, a former sergeant in the US Marine Corps, will be honored this Saturday at the Travis Manion Foundations’ Heroes 9-11 Run. (Link in comments.)

Many of us use running to cope with mental health struggles. It is remarkable how something so intense for the body can be so calming for the mind. Check on your friends and family - let them know you are there for them. Unfortunately, so many of us have been affected by the su***de of someone close to us.
Ron shares some of his memories of his son in this video and shows us the beautiful memorials they have for his him. He reads his thoughts from a bench they sit on when they want to feel close to Sharif. Ron, and Dee, thank you for sharing.đź’› ***deawareness

08/20/2026

We are spotlighting a small group of runners that are running ultra distances at Fire Fest in November. They are answering a question each week. We feature them in our stories and then create a reel with their stories the following week. The question last week was, “Who are you, and why did you choose Fire Fest?”🔥🔥. Let’s cheer these runners on the next few months as they get ready to toe the start line at Fire Fest!
