“Hello, my name is Kimberly. In March of 2019, I underwent a life-saving liver transplant. While I was incredibly grateful for a second chance at life, the recovery process was challenging, and once I recovered, I never made it back to the gym. Life got busy, my confidence faded, and getting started again felt overwhelming. I can’t remember the last time I truly felt comfortable in my own skin. As time went on, I struggled for years trying to find a routine that fit my lifestyle or kept me motivated. I would turn to a juice cleanse for quick weight loss, but after every juice cleanse the weight would come right back—and honestly, I felt even worse. The cycle became discouraging and depressing. I started asking myself, “Is this really what my 50s are supposed to feel like?” Then came the wonderful and awesome Uini. Every morning she would walk into my store to fill her jug with ice before heading to her Boot Camp. She always came in with cheerful energy and encouraged me to join her. Something about her positivity made me finally say yes. From the very first day, I was hooked — This was exactly what I had been looking for in a fitness routine. I may have cried during the first couple of weeks of camp because it was challenging, but deep down I knew that if I kept showing up and pushing myself, I would become stronger. At the beginning, I couldn’t do a military-style push-up or successfully complete a box jump — and now I can! Achieving those small goals gave me confidence I hadn’t felt in a long time. I also made sure my protein intake stayed high and consistent to support my workouts, which naturally helped me make healthier food choices every day. (Full story continued in comments)

Modifying isn’t “taking the easy way out.”
It’s training smarter. 👏
At Burn, mods are never something to be embarrassed about. Every body moves differently, has different strengths, different limitations, different injuries, different seasons of life, and different goals. A modification doesn’t make the workout less effective, it makes the workout more effective for YOUR body. 💪
A “higher mod” doesn’t automatically mean a better mod for YOU. The best modification is the one that helps you move correctly, safely, and confidently while still challenging your body in the right way. 🔥
Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is choose the movement that allows you to keep showing up, keep improving, and keep getting stronger.

The days you feel motivated are great, but the days you come anyway? Those are the days that truly change you. Every rep, every drop of sweat, every early morning and hard decision is a brick being laid toward a stronger, healthier version of yourself. ✨
Progress doesn’t ask for perfection. It asks for consistency. Keep showing up, keep believing in yourself, and trust that the work you’re putting in today will pay off tomorrow.
