This is soooo true. There are NO BLACK BELT techniques. There are techniques one must train on thousands upon thousands of times. The Jiu-Jitsu is perfect, our technical ability is not.

Training slow with precision becomes fast over time. In our classes we are striving toward fundamental perfection. Heavy on training smooth, and working on each finite detail.

The comments on my last post about why people want to fight when they have no skills blew up! 💀 But it got me thinking about the exact opposite scenario...
What happens when criminals accidentally try to prey on a literal lethal weapon?
Let’s take it back to the early days—when Super Brawl right here in Hawaii was the greatest thing next to the UFC, and Twitter was still the absolute wild West.
Story 1: A small, unassuming Japanese fighter is walking through Waikiki after the fights. Three guys think he’s an easy target and try to rob him. You guys already know the outcome. Within SECONDS, all three of them were face down on the pavement. They thought they found a victim; instead, they found out why you don’t mess with a pro fighter.
Story 2: The legendary Renzo Gracie is walking through NYC. Two guys start trailing him for blocks, setting up to mug him. Most people would panic. Renzo? He starts LIVE-TWEETING the whole thing. He literally typed out updates as they got closer, baited them, and then... silence. The very next tweet was a picture of them wrecked on the floor, and Renzo standing over them with his trademark, happy smile.
Renzo is one of the friendliest, funniest guys you’ll ever meet, always laughing. But he said it best: “Sometimes people mistake my happiness and friendliness and kindness for weakness.”
Those guys learned really quick. The moral of the story? Be kind, be happy, be friendly... but never mistake peace for a lack of power. đŸ€™đŸœđŸ’„
