Months of preparation. Miles of training. A goal missed by seconds and achieved in every way that mattered.
Huge congratulations to Rick N. for completing the Dexter-Ann Arbor Half Marathon this past weekend. 🏃🏻♂️
Rick followed the plan. He stayed consistent with his running, strength training, and nutrition. Along the way, we had to troubleshoot some aches, pains, and setbacks, but he kept showing up and kept moving forward.
Race day came, and he ran the race he wanted to run—missing his goal time by only seconds. To me, that’s hitting the goal.
Proud of you, Rick. You earned this one. 💪🏻

Happy Birthday to J.D.! 🎉💪🏻
Last week, J.D. texted me to let me know he officially hit his weight-gain goal. Huge deal.
Statistics vary, but most data suggest only about 1 in 10 people actually achieve their fitness goals long term. Most people start. Far fewer stay consistent long enough to finish.
He did.
And he didn’t just gain weight. He got significantly stronger in the process. He’s become one of the strongest people in the gym.
A few weeks ago, as he was leaving, he told me, “I just feel so accomplished when I leave here.”
That stuck with me.
Why?
J.D. is a husband, father, business owner, leader, and someone responsible for well over 20 employees. Yet strength training still gives him a sense of accomplishment and momentum.
That’s because getting stronger in the gym carries over into life.
Proud of you, brother. Excited for the next phase.
Give J.D. some birthday love and congratulations below! 👏🏻💪🏻🎉

Happy 66th Birthday to one of our longtime guys here at 28:Tenn Fitness, Doug W.! 🎉💪🏻🥳
Doug has dealt with more physical setbacks and challenges over the years than a lot of people ever will, and yet he just keeps showing up and doing what he can with what he’s got.
That’s rare.
No excuses. No pity party. No “I’ll come back when things are perfect.” He adjusts, keeps moving forward, and goes to work. 👊🏻
Honestly, I think that’s one of the greatest examples of strength there is.
Doug’s also a proud Scotsman🏴, a husband, a father, and just a genuinely good man. We’re thankful he’s part of the 28:Tenn family. ❤️
Happy Birthday, Doug! Glad you’re with us, brother.
Help me celebrate Doug today by dropping him a happy birthday, a 💪🏻, or a 🎉 in the comments!

What a day. 🫏☀️🍦
The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the farm was beautiful, and Kyle and Bob were incredible hosts. Add in delicious ice cream from , co****le, horseshoes, kids playing football, made-up donkey feeding games, and great conversation, and it turned into one of those afternoons you don't want to end.
One of my favorite parts? Looking around and seeing everyone there together. We had a several-month-old baby all the way up to an 81-year-old. Current clients. Past clients. (Future clients?) Family. Friends. People who trained this week and people we haven't seen in a while.
And honestly, this is what I love about 28:Tenn.
Yes, we care about getting stronger and healthier. Absolutely. But community matters too. Getting together matters. Laughing matters. Catching up matters and spending a few hours outside in God's country with good people and a couple of donkeys matters. 🫏
Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a special day.
Be strong, and do the work! 💪🏻

Most people think fat loss gets harder because they're doing something wrong.
That's not it.
Your body is simply adapting.
As you lose weight, you burn fewer calories.
Hunger increases.
Progress slows.
So what used to work no longer feels like it's working anymore.
That's when most people push harder.
But a better approach is to change the conditions.
Spend time maintaining.
Let your body adjust.
Then begin again.
The goal isn't to force fat loss.
It's to make it sustainable.
Be strong, and do the work!

One of the responses I received in a recent Fitness & Nutrition Learning Survey was simple:
“Diet.”
Not dieting.
Just what to eat.
Recently, a client who has been with me for over two years told me:
“Adam, I just don’t know what to eat.”
And honestly, that’s incredibly common.
Nutrition advice online can be overwhelming.
So I love this simple framework from Precision Nutrition.
Instead of labeling foods as good or bad, it organizes them into three categories:
🥩 Eat More
🍚 Eat Some
🍩 Eat Less
It’s simple.
It’s practical.
And it helps people make better choices without feeling restricted.
