Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
Yesterday, today, tomorrow… your life… your story- it matters. Your dreams, hurt, confusion, love, anger, hopes… all of it matters. You are valued, your feelings are valid and you are not alone. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate and is no stranger to many of us. We are proud of you today, even if all you did was make it through. And, we are sorry you are struggling.

Take care of yourself. Give yourself time and grace. Most of all, give yourself some credit. You are so brave. You fight your demons everyday and still choose to wake up and fight them again the next day. Never forget that strength. But, if you ever need an army, don’t be afraid or ashamed to ask for help.

I am beyond excited to start off this new season of competition!! These kids are absolutely AMAZING :) As usual, all of the members of Team Innov8 had a free photo shoot to start off the year! This is always fun for the kids as well as me AND we get to bond outside of the classroom. I also want to show off how photogenic and talented they are!! I spent a long time planning out these pictures, picking the locations and poses for each shot and the style for each composite, so I hope you all enjoy!! Finally, a special shout out to Mason for taking the pictures and editing them for us, without you my images wouldn’t come to life!!! :) Love, Coach Talia

I am so beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to bring my students to MCV this morning, so they could perform for the patients at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU and the VCU Massey Cancer Center!! There is no better feeling than using your passion to help others smile or feel better, even if only for a minute. Community comes first! Spread love everywhere you go and lend a helping hand whenever you can. You never know how much it could mean to someone! I'd like to thank Siri, Unicia and Muzi at MCV for helping to coordinate this event. I'd also like to thank my students for being so giving and doing such a great job (and the parents for supporting us as a dance family and letting them miss school)!!

We were so honored to be able to perform and be a part of such a great event today! All 20 of the girls did great (even though they had to perform on a wet rocky lot). It was a fun, new experience and we were all just happy we could use our passion to help support others! Also, we are excited to announce that one of our dance moms, Bergundi' Ithier-bean, won tickets to see Ed Sheeran in concert and two of our students Kali and Raychel won raffled gift baskets! One of my students got sick and could not attend so I had to jump in her place last minute today for lifts and formations. We love you Rachel Cohen and missed you! Hope you feel better soon :) I'd also like to thank Kasey Boone for making this all happen!
