At just 16 years old, Dax is wise beyond his years. He takes his training seriously, pushes his physicality to another level, and the results are showing. He’s already medaled in 2 out of 2 tournaments this year, and we have a feeling he’s just getting started. 🥇🏐

One of the best things about Dax is that he reminds all of us that you don’t have to be the tallest player on the court to be successful. You just have to work hard, trust your game, and compete with confidence.

In 2025, Dax earned the Culture Award, and honestly, it was no surprise. He’s the kind of athlete everyone enjoys being around. He’s positive, coachable, competitive, and always a great teammate. The club is better because he’s part of it.

If you want to improve faster, you need more than just practice.

Athlete Spotlight: Derek 🦆⚡️

Nickname: Ducky… jk, just made that up 😭

Derek’s been doing a great job lately. He’s coachable, fun to be around, works hard, loves Comp Fridays, and sometimes we catch him wrestling after practice. 😂
I guess this really is a boys club after all.

One thing we love about Derek is that he’s willing to learn. He asks questions, listens, and puts in the reps. Those are the kinds of athletes that keep getting better.

And let’s be honest… if you’re gonna wear duck shorts, you better ball. 😂😭

Some of these athletes started volleyball with us two years ago. Some joined last summer. Some train with us every week. Some are brand new to the club. Whatever it is we’re proud! 🥲

A special shoutout to Connor and Ivy for being named Athlete of the Year at Parras Middle School. Both have spent time training with Strandside. We’re incredibly proud of you both. 👏

Two years of Strandside. ⚡️🦈

What started as an idea to help grow boys beach volleyball on the sand became a real community. Thousands of reps, sunset practices, Comp Fridays, tournaments, foggy mornings, laughs, wins, losses, growth, friendships, and a whole lot of belief in boys beach volleyball.

The coolest part is watching athletes become more aware, better teammates, and better people through the process.

Some kids showed up never touching a volleyball before and now they’re standing on podiums. Some came for fun and found lifelong friends. Some just needed a place where they could consistently improve throughout the year.

Over the last two years we’ve been tested in every way. Different athletes, personalities, goals, weather, pressure, setbacks, and challenges. Through all of it, one thing became very clear…

This works.

Kids are improving. Kids are happier. Kids are building confidence, friendships, discipline, and real love for the game. The product was never just volleyball training. It was always about building an environment people genuinely want to be a part of.

No matter the reason, Strandside is proud to work with athletes on their own path. That’s what makes people unique. We’re not here to change who you are. We’re here to help guide your vision and bring the best out of you.

Thank you to every athlete, parent, coach, friend, and supporter who helped build this thing. The work is really just beginning, but it’s work we genuinely love doing.

Funny memories remind us… Comp Friday is this week ⚡️🦈

After a long week of school, homework, stress, and everything else… sometimes you just need your people.

Friends, volleyball, music, pizza, sunset beach vibes, and a couple hours where everyone gets to compete, laugh, and hang out together.

That’s a huge part of what makes Strandside special. The friendships. Having people around you who push you, support you, and make life more fun.

What does it take to win?

Be the kind of partner people love playing with. Communicate, stay positive, compete hard, and help the people around you thrive.

The better your foundation and understanding of the game becomes, the more confident and adaptable you become too.

Comp Friday is where we test skills, compete, and make memories after a crazy week. The best hangs ⚡️
