Hi everyone,

This is Mychal and Justin, the directors of Opus Dance Movement.

Today, we’re stepping outside of our comfort zone and asking for your support.

When we started Opus, we didn’t have a studio, a large budget, a staff, or a long list of resources behind us. What we did have was a vision: to create a place where young dancers could be challenged, encouraged, and genuinely cared for.

Over the last two years, we’ve poured everything we have into making that vision a reality.

We wear a lot of hats. Between the two of us, we handle the choreography, rehearsals, competition preparation, marketing, scheduling, fundraising, parent communication, and all of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps this program moving forward.

But our role goes far beyond dance.

We check in on our dancers when they’re struggling. We celebrate their successes in and out of the studio. We show up to support them at important moments in their lives. We make sure they know they have people in their corner who believe in them.

And somehow, with limited resources, no permanent studio space, and a fraction of the support that many established programs begin with, our dancers have accomplished things that many thought would take years to achieve. They’ve earned placements, gained confidence, built friendships, and become part of something bigger than themselves.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built together, but continuing to grow requires support.

Every donation—whether it’s $5, $25, $100, or more—helps provide opportunities for our dancers and helps us continue building a program that puts them first.
