By the time you are thirsty… you are already dehydrated! Yup! Our thirst mechanism does not alert us in time to the physiological problems associated with dehydration. If it is hot and or humid or even if you are maintaining high level physical outputs… you need to sip! Not guzzle… sip!
As you lose fluids you need to replace them.
Just a 2% loss of fluids can result in a 20% loss in muscle functions. Weaker, slower, less endurance, decreased cognitive functions!
Also remember you are losing electrolytes that are critical to nearly all mental and physical processes and performance capacities.
Sport drink Ex Gatorade or Powerade mixed 50/50 with water is a great concentration to sip! Mix it up watery…
Take lots of sip breaks!
