Just did some test fits on the board. It’s definitely coming together. Glad I did this too because I think I have enough trees for the forest. My initial first size was too large.

Finally got to the point where it was time to apply some sculptamold. The waterfall mountain is ready for priming and painting.

Sunday the kids and I dug up a bunch of dirt and gravel in front of our house (finally a positive side to the city leaving our roads in disrepair?) and I separated the dirt and gravel and rocks into different sizes and containers. Today I mixed the dirt and some of the smallest rocks and mixed it with PVA glue to create this slurry that will form the ground and river bed. The ground will then receive several layers of flocking over the course of the build, but I think this should make for an effective river bottom.

I did this part of the board because it isn’t going to have anything printed to put on it. I want to apply the trees and the buildings to the board before I put this slurry over their sections, to help blend them into the board.

Todays progress. I did in the water effects and the dry brushing of the rocks and dirt. I also used gloss mod podge everywhere that Is supposed to be water or wet (water isn’t wet). Then I took white paint and stippled out onto the current marks made by the joint compound.

Some of the gloss mod podge is refusing to dry in the crevice at the base of the waterfall, so I can’t apply any washes yet.

All that remains is to create the water fall effect from 2 part epoxy and wash everything.

Gonna have to make a blue wash for the water, fortunately I have some blue ink to make it with.

Today’s progress. First I cleaned up all the rock base coat with the airbrush (I don’t know why I bother with brushes on large stuff), then I started painting the dirt.

Remaining steps are to
do the rest of the colors for the water
wash everything
dry brush everything
gloss mod podge the water
Go over the current and other areas of froth with a white paint
Create the actual waterfall with epoxy and white paint.
Seal everything up

Just need to finish printing 2 bases and my Vinci army for is printed. If I like the army I’ll print it up again for painting. I’m also printing up the bigger automa brute. I feel like a 75 unit should be big.

These Guys had very little leather on them, so I decided to knock out the leather first. This is the first time I’ve used my snakebite leather contrast paint. I think I’m going to go over it again but this was good.

Just missing an automa brute to finish out my Vinci army for

I’m done with the skin on these models for my beastmen army. I could do a lot more but I have two other armies to paint, each with more models. Now I’ve got to pick a color scheme.
