Now that's the dust has settled, and the smoke has cleared, just wanted to shout out and thank all the people who helped make it a success this year. Even Johnny Watkins said he's never seen that many black belts at a tournament that were the best quality judges. Thanks to my tournament, director Master Chris Westbrook and my wonderful staff who work hours on end to make sure the tournament was ready. I always say, success is in preparation, and we succeeded. I appreciate all the many compliments about the tournament and the new facility. I was very pleased. I hope everybody had a great time. We worked tirelessly to have the best judges possible. I will forget a bunch of helpers, but thanks to Debbie, Leslie, Cynthia, Jaquita, Molly, Ruby, Carrie, Kyra,Janise, Ronald, Amanda, Jade, my awesome security team, carrie, Bobby, Courtney, mark, jeff, caleb, josh and my awesome center refs. Phil, Jeff, Foot, Joey, Donald, Chopper, Ricky Preston, Steve And all other spectacular judges. You don't know how much you are appreciating. All comments are highly appreciated also.. Congratulations to our international student, Victor Jara Elberg, who successfully tested for and earned his Green Belt in Judo at IAM Cuenca, an affiliate of IAM Madrid. Victor trains under Master Manuel Cano and Master Manuel Cano Jr. at one of Cuenca’s leading Judo and Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools. Master Rick Donkel had the privilege of witnessing Victor’s examination and was honored to personally present him with his new belt following the successful completion of his test. Victor continues to grow not only as a martial artist but also as a leader, assisting with the instruction and development of under-belt students. His dedication, discipline, and commitment to helping others make this achievement especially well deserved. Congratulations, Victor, on this important milestone in your martial arts journey.

Mountain View Karate Centers would like to thank and recognize Quan Chavez for all of your hard work and dedication that you put into the Kickboxing Division of this years Mountain View Open.

The division was ran flawlessly and drew quite a crowd from the Sport Karate sections!

Congratulations to Manuel Cano, one of Cuenca’s and Spain’s most respected Judo instructors, on being recognized as one of the top Black Belts in Judo. His dedication to the art and commitment to developing students continue to make a lasting impact on the martial arts community. Special congratulations as well to our international student, Victor Jara Elberg, who has trained under Manuel’s guidance and is testing for his Green Belt in Judo.
