TL:DR The IL Dept. of Labor has some very strict inspection and regulation requirements I'm just not willing to go through.

Well... everything was rolling along until about a month ago. Right after the Highland city council approved our special event I found out the State has conditions. Basically they treat haunted houses exactly the same as carnival rides. I looked into it and YIKES! - Sprinkler system
- Panic devices on doors
- Wouldn't be able to just pay all the workers cash (need to do the withholding process and treat as payroll)
- Training and background checks of everybody
- Submit documentation of many things before and after event to them

The enforcement of all this goes to the County and I heard through the grapevine they are NOT to be fucced with. I looked into partnering with a nonprofit to avoid some of the inspections and spoke to 3 of them but didn't get a yes.

I should say that I absolutely love this city counsel and how pro-small business they are. I have been in front of them 3x and they are always fair and reasonable. Also... Matt, pastor at Mosaic church, is a baller. He has been an awesome neighbor for the new building and was willing to do anything necessary from giving up parking to hosting food trucks and simply whatever he could do.

If there is interest we can do a cool Halloween party instead. The space will be empty and lots of room for dancing and mayhem. Everybody dresses up and brings drinks! Give me a bit of time to make that official announcement though.

Anyhow... sorry to get your hopes up, it would have been cool and very AlphA. Will make it up to you all with a crazy wonderful new gym in about 5 months.

Join the Tribe at Schweizerfest!

This is a 3 day festival on the grounds of the Highland square. There will be music, games, food, drinks, and fun!

🍻Friday night, join the Tribe near the west tent. Shotgun Creek Band will play at 8pm! Come early to grab dinner and drinks.

Schweizerfest is hosted by the Highland Jaycees.

Great gym day! Edwardsville had their first technical boxing class and it was full (no picture though). Will do the same for Highland next week! Laura's lifting class is in big demand every Wednesday and Ashley had her usual excellent "not to be missed" workout. See everyone tomorrow!

We had so much fun at the May Clang Gang ... so we are doing it again!

Join me for Clang Gang V in October!

The Clang Gang training group begins next week! Laura will create a lifting group for those interested in training for the October Clang Gang. This is perfect for beginner to intermediate lifters. We will train in July, August, and September for the October event.

We currently have 10 members in the group! The group will offer training sessions, learning opportunities, 12 week training program, and lots of encouragement!
