Computerized quilting is not about taking the quilter out of the process!

You still choose the design, size it for the quilt, decide how it should fit the space, advance the quilt and watch the stitching. Quilt Path and IQ handle the repeated path while you make the decisions that shape the finished result.

For some quilters, that means more finished charity quilts. For others, it makes customer work or large edge-to-edge projects more manageable.

What would you most want automation to help you finish?

A clean start on the back of the quilt begins before the first line of quilting.

I bring the bobbin thread to the top, hold both thread tails, take a few small securing stitches when appropriate, and trim the tails so they cannot become a nest underneath.

It takes only a moment, but it keeps the back of the quilt much cleaner.

Do you pull up the bobbin thread every time or is this a habit you are still building?

I feel like I've talked about her all week but she's pretty special.

The first thing I noticed about Tilly was not a number on a specification sheet. It was how much more of the quilting area I could see.

Her smaller top arm and open-head design leave a much clearer view all the way back to the take-up roller. That matters when I am following a ruler, watching a design develop, or working close to a seam.

Visibility changes how confidently you can place the next stitch. This is one feature I want quilters to experience in person, because a photograph cannot quite show what it feels like at the handles.

Three cities in three days gave me a great many reasons to be grateful.

Thank you to everyone who joined me in Colorado Springs, Longmont and Cheyenne. Some of you arrived with a long list of questions. Some needed only a few minutes at the handles to understand what had been hard to put into words.

I enjoyed meeting new quilters and seeing familiar faces. If you thought of another question after you left, please send it to me!

Being ready to quilt for customers is about more than making a pretty line of stitches.

I want a quilter to be comfortable loading a quilt squarely, checking tension, choosing an appropriate design and thread, and correcting a problem without panic. I also want the business side to have a repeatable process for intake, pricing, approvals, deadlines, and returning the finished quilt.

Practice the whole experience before accepting the first customer quilt. The work at the handles matters, but so does every promise made around it.

Pre order now as supply is limitied. It will be arriving in the shop very soon. I can't tell you just how pretty this quilt is.

Abide, the stunning pattern from Lizard Creek Quilting, showcases vibrant Island Batik prints that dance through pieced blocks and elegant laser cut appliqué blooms.

The appliqué can be hand stitched or fused. If you choose fusing, consider finishing each piece with a decorative machine stitch before quilting. Add a few tiny seed beads afterwards for an extra touch of sparkle and eye catching detail.

This pattern is beautifully balanced — every element flows gracefully into the next, creating a quilt that feels truly exciting and magical. Perfect for beginner or more experienced piecers. You will receive all 9 blocks at one time.

Kit Includes:
Pattern
All Fabrics for Top, including Binding
All Pre-Fused Laser Cut Appliqué Pieces
Full Size Layout Diagrams

Finished size: approximately 80" x 80". Need backing? Let me help you choose from one from many beautiful wide backs I carry. If you are choosing to fuse the flowers I have Steam - A - Seam available.
