(Cannot say that we did not try, but I also realize that the City and Outdoor Chattanooga offers pretty much the same services and then some. Perhaps I just need to try to get a job with parks and rec... no insurance costs, no vehicle maintanance, no advertising and a bank account to work out of... must be nice) I guess I am actually helping to pay for Outdoor Chatt since it is a governmental orgainization... pay your competitors)

These ladies have the first and most hardcore multiday canoe camping trip! They booked the trip a month ago and were set on going even once I gave them the weather forecast. They made great time to Williams Island from the Coolidge Park launch site. They made such great time that after setting up camp the paddled downstream to River Drifters for a burger and back to the island. The following day they stoked their fire back up and relaxed before heading out to Pot Point Camping area. They enjoyed the views of the river gorge until the rain set in. They paddled to the designated camp area that they had reserved ahead of time only to find shady locals living there. They remembered seeing a nice spot that turned out to be “one of the best campsites yet”. This morning they woke up yo higher water and swift flows. This made their morning launch a breeze! They set out and wound their way through the gorge to Sullivans Landing where I was waiting with the bus. I also mentioned that they were “local stars” after having their photo published in the newspaper while they were still on the water…. They elwere elated.
They also talked about what a great experience it was and how the rain was just a part of it. But did not define their trip. These ladies have inspired men…So keep that in mind when you consider backing out of an adventure due to the weatherman’s expert opinion of what the appropriate weather for having a great time is. Go Adventure

Ok... so we have been on a hiatus for a while, but I would like to offer a couple of different options that might get us up and running again.
The single rentals were running us to death and not making it feasible to operate. My ideas for “potential trips” are:
Island hoping fully supported overnight excursion and moonlight floats.
I would like to bring a little of our Central America trip to Chattanooga. We hosted folks for 7 days at a time, now I would like to condense that into a 2-3 day planned trip. Trips would include custom meal plans, your boat/board, pfd, and camping gear (tent,hammock, chair etc). We will haul the gear and set up camp before you arrive. Meals will be prepared and dishes cleaned etc.
Pricing would vary depending on gear and group size. Somewhere around $100 per person with a 5 person minimum for an overnight with two days of paddling, camping and shuttle

Moonlight Paddle Trips for groups of 4 or more. Put on before sunset and paddle downstream into the setting sun at downtown Chattanooga or a casual paddle out onto the lake and enjoy the sunset and moonrise over the water. $35 per person.

The island have some amazing geological and archeological history that we can cover as well...
