American Legion,Post 159, Hixson, Tn

Post Commander Jim Beasley is stepping down from the position as a result of medical issues, per the Constitution and ByLaws of our post:

1st Vice Commander Zack Duncan will fill the position of Post 159 Commander until our next officer election cycle.

Congratulations Commander Duncan and to all please remember Jim in your prayers.

At the scheduled meeting for March, Post 159 held its officer elections. The following were elected for the 2023 - 2024 years.

Jim Beasley - Commander
Zack Duncan - 1st Vice Commander
2nd Vice Commander - Chris Stubblefield
Adjutant - Vickie Putnam
Service Officer - Wayne Belk

Post 159 members Don Shope, Jim Beasley. Don Fritz, Wayne Belk, and the Commander and Adjutant of Post 232 of Linville Ga were honored to serve as pall bearers for Sanford White. We will miss you Commander.

Legionnaires, it is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I inform you that Sanford White passed away last night. Sanford was a dear friend to us all and a great mentor to me. Arrangements are not final however I believe he will be in Hixson at North Chapel on 153 on Thursday. Rest well brother, tell Shirley Hi for us.

Post 159 is still not meeting due to the pandemic. With any luck this will be under control soon and we can once again hold our meetings. Until then stay safe and healthy.
