Press Release from Chief Barger - Holden Beach Police Department Requests Public Assistance Following Vehicle Break-Ins
The Holden Beach Police Department is investigating multiple vehicle break-ins that occurred during the overnight hours of September 16-17, 2026. Officers responded to several reports of vehicles being unlawfully entered in various areas of Holden Beach. Investigators are actively working to identify those responsible and determine whether additional incidents may have occurred that have not yet been reported.
The Holden Beach Police Department is requesting the public's assistance. Residents and visitors are asked to review any home security, doorbell, or surveillance camera footage that may have captured suspicious persons or vehicles during the overnight hours. Any footage showing suspicious activity may be valuable to the investigation. Additionally, anyone who discovers that their vehicle, residence, storage area, or other property was unlawfully entered, or that items are missing, is urged to report the incident by calling 911.
As a reminder, residents and visitors are encouraged to take simple precautions to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime. Please ensure that vehicle doors, residential doors, and storage areas are locked, and avoid leaving valuables in plain view inside vehicles.
