Message from the Director:
Hey Gents,
Your health and wellness is of paramount importance to the Cecchetti Council of America. With this in mind, the very difficult has been made to cancel this summer’s session of the EMTP.
Cancelling a program of any kind is hard to do, especially when we have so much fun together! Although this means that we will be taking a break from our beloved Summer School, it certainly doesn’t mean that we can’t continue to train together this summer - online!
Beginning May 1st, I will begin transitioning some of our men’s programming online so that you will continue to have access to a variety of men’s classes throughout it the summer. Take class live with me and continue to condition together this summer. There’s no reason to allow our bodies and minds to become inactive. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Last but not least; remember that anxiety is completely normal. When life throws us a lemon, getting our emotions involved is healthy. It’s an uncertain time right now, but if you ask me it’s the perfect time to make some lemonade. Let’s keep our chins up and remain steadfast with our goals. As with all things, this too shall pass. Feel free to reach out if you need a boost. That’s what we are here for.
Take care of yourselves, and each other. I’ll see you online soon. Stay tuned for details!

Dancers Today Are Taking Cross-Training to Extremes. But What's the Artistic Benefit?
New York City Ballet principal Sara Mearns wasn't sure she was strong enough. A ballerina who has danced many demanding full-length and contemporary roles, she was about to push herself physically more than she thought was possible. "I said, 'I can't. My body won't,' " she says. "He told me, 'Yes, i...

Message from the Director:
At the Enhanced Men’s Training Program we support and encourage gentlemen from all backgrounds to explore and participate in the art of dance. Boys from across the globe come together each summer to train at the EMTP, and each boy has a unique relationship with the art form and possesses his own passions and aspirations. It is the mission of the EMTP to applaud these things. No boy should ever feel alone or like an outcast for wanting to dance, for taking dance classes, or for wanting to become a professional dancer.
Many boys encounter bullying that compels them to leave dance behind or to feel shamed. I should know, I was one of them. I encountered my fair share of bullying in elementary and middle school - simply because I loved to dance.
Age-old stigmas about men’s participation in dance are completely out of touch with reality and should not be reinforced. People in positions of power should not use their influence to demean, defeat, disrespect, or shame others who possess passion or curiosity about dance.
Dance brings joy to countless boys and men worldwide. Many pursue avenues into professional dance, while others simply enjoy the many scholastic, cognitive, physiological, and social rewards that dancing provides them. The EMTP does not support the use of adversarial language that encourages ignorant views pertaining to boys and dance. Instead we encourage boys to pursue their passions and to enjoy dance to the fullest, for however long they invite it into their lives.
Boys, keep dancing. We’ve got your back.
