Head football coach and associate professor of kinesiology Peter Stuursma ’93 delivered the Commencement address to the Class of 2026 on Sunday, May 10.

Speaking at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium, Stuursma celebrated the achievements of 815 graduates, the largest cohort in Hope's history, offering reflections on leadership, the importance of relationships, and the ongoing journey of self-discovery.

Meet our new defensive coordinator, Alex Smith. The former Central Michigan University Chippewa linebacker/defensive end joins the Hope College Football family after an exceptional high school coaching career, most recently at East Kentwood, a MHSAA Division 1 state semifinalist last fall.
