A week ago today, we had the opportunity to celebrate Abby Van Peursem ‘11 as she was awarded the 2026 H Club Hope for Humanity Award prior to the Hopey’s.
What a joy to hear from Abby on the why behind what she does. She is a beautiful leader, servant, wife, mother and friend. Her work at Poetice has been so fun to witness from afar and we are so grateful for the women’s basketball connections in Choma through Courteney Barnes and the women’s basketball players and alum who have traveled to serve at Poetice through Hope’s SEED Program.
So fun to celebrate you, !

A night to remember! 🔥🆙
We had so much fun at the 2026 Hopey’s! Took home the MIAA Championship Performance Award, but even cooler, we were able to welcome back WBB alum, Abby Phillips Van Peursem ‘11 as she won the 2026 Hope for Humanity Award for her work leading in Choma, Zambia. She’s a massive difference maker and we are so grateful for her work!
