We’re off. See you on the other side!
The Premier Park Trailhead at Merrell Trail (WMMBA) is now closed for the duration of the project, estimated to end towards the end of June. Wynalda Loop is now closed.

The rest of the trail and the Belmont Trailhead close on May 31st for the remainder of the trail work.

Shoutout to TrailSense for making it happen!

Merrell Trail (WMMBA) UPDATE - 3/28/22

Before we get into it, a quick reminder that Wahlfield and Luton remain closed until April 2. With rain and snow in the weather forecast this week, please don’t ride or walk/run the trails in wet conditions.

We have contracted with TrailSense for the following scope of work at Merrell:

-All trails EXCEPT Sawtooth will have drainage repairs and updates
-All trails EXCEPT Siren will remain directional by the day
-Siren will be one directional to all trail users all days
-Features on Siren will be bike optimized
-WYNALDA features will be bike optimized and built for direction by the day

Due to future changes to the dirt parking lot and trail encroachment onto private property we will be moving the trailhead south of the dirt parking lot. This will affect the In and Out loop. Current thinking is to transform the In and Out to a directional skills line and create a new In and Out in the south meadow. This may change.

We don’t expect a net gain or loss of trail length, features, or difficulty.

The Allies scope of work is predominantly finish work. We expect partial trail closures, which may amount to full trail closures for rider safety. We expect to post weekend and weeknight trail work. The start date of Trailsense is weather dependent on finishing a different project for another Organization. The start date (and trail closures) along with trailwork will be announced as soon as possible.

It's about to get busy.

Josh from TrailSense put some more trail work in out at Luton Park. He moved a lot of dirt and built up some turns. The work needs some traffic so get out there! Thanks Josh.

We want to throw a quick shoutout to the good people over at Wahlfield Trail - WMMBA. Bill Parker and the trail adopters have all decided to continue their hard work for another year!

With the additions and reroutes done by Josh at TrailSense, we think Wahlfield is going to be a major hotspot this coming summer. Thanks for all you guys do and cheers to another year of rippin' trail.

Be on the lookout for trail days being scheduled in the coming months. If you'd like to be apart of making these trails awesome we can always use the hands.

2021 build season begins at Riverbends Park in Shelby Township. Blasted through a few decades of invasives. Lifted and tilted tread with some dirt features on the flats. Capping and finishing to bind the sandy soils. Ready to get on some steeps!
