“If it’s to be, it’s up to me.”
…
Me and my wife are constantly working on responsibility, doing complete work, doing the hard thing with our 8 year old daughter.
…
And in the practice of teaching it, we need to embody it.
…
Lord, it is challenging.
…
Kids don’t do as we say, they do as we do.
…
The access to power is full ownership of results.
…
It ain’t easy, but it is extraordinary.
LifeUp Health Coaching

Little by little,
A little becomes a lot.
Seemingly inconsequential volumes of positive choices
- a couple sets of push-ups before your kid wakes up,
- grabbing an apple instead of chips on the way to the playground,
- less screens, more books before bed …
All amount to a truly intentional and consequential life.
If you’re out here doing the best you know how while managing kids in career, give yourself a 👏
Consistency > Intensity.
Busy parents often get literal *minutes* for self care.
Any resistance to what one “should” do with that time is a recipe for failure.
Ask yourself “what do I love that’s good for me?”
And make that the starting point.
Once in place, build on top of that.

An unplanned pregnancy had me escape life through
drug abuse, alcohol, deep anxiety, multiple brush ups with the law…
I am not an angel. I am not a guru. I’m a humble dad who fu**ed up so many times only a higher power can explain why I didn’t end up in jail.
But like Steve Harvey says, “a lesson becomes a blessin’ if you learn from it.”
My book is a culmination of lessons turned into blessings; I hope you find a few for yourself within the pages.

Preaching health by day, devious behavior by night.
Alcohol, drugs, trash food, dust ups with the law…
The fact I don’t have a criminal record is a testament to guardian angels carrying my sorry ass over self-created minefields.

I’m not proud of my past, but I will say I learned a lot from it.
Pain is the best teacher if we heed her lessons…
