It's time to introduce myself! Hey everyone, my name is Brandon Jackson. I am the new owner and operator of Deepstrike Sportfishing. David leaves me some large shoes to fill, but I am excited for the challenge! (Make sure you check out the deal below!)

Here's a bit about me! I was born in the beautiful town of Homer. This place is my heart. I joined the charter fishing fleet here as a deckhand in 2018 to help pay for college. I soon fell in love with showing people this amazing area and the unique quantity and quality of fish we have here. In 2019, my dad and I invested in our first charter fishing boat the "Wilderness Explorer." It was a large risk to build such an expensive boat for charter fishing, but we believed there was a sustainable model in the high-end, custom excursion market. It was at this time I met David Bayes. He became an invaluable mentor and friend to me through the following years. In 2022 we had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to add two new vessels. The "Legacy" and the "Alaska Endeavor" rounded out our fleet of three state-of-the-art Baywelds. We have spent the last few years dialing in our crew and our program. Last fall David approached me with the idea of taking on Deepstrike as a bolt-on to my current company Destination Alaska. I believe this opportunity to be a great fit leading to where we are today!

About this coming season! I am ecstatic to have Captain Chelsea joining me this season in running my 6pax boat the “Legacy”! I have known Chelsea since I started in the charter fleet in Homer and look forward to working with her this summer. My other two boats will be captained by Brandon Kosht (Wilderness Explorer) and David Prescott (Alaska Endeavor). They are both extremely seasoned and reputable captains in this area. It’s hard for me to believe it, but I have my dream team going into this summer. I will post more on each captain as this spring progresses!

These Tiagra 30s have outlived pretty much everything else on the boat, and done it in style!

You know it's quality when handles wear through from cranking before the internals go!

These reels have 14 Alaskan charter seasons on them. Before they're put into service, I do a full "Alan Tani" style grease job using Yamalube grease on the inside, and then swap out the right side plate bearing before each season as preventative maintenance. Other than that, they just go and go🤷‍♂️

(though we have found out that they don't float...)
