Fall weather moves fast. Tahoe mornings are known for being calm - but fall systems build quicker than summer ones. Wind and chop can show up faster than you'd expect, especially on exposed stretches of the lake.

Check conditions right before you head out, not the night before. Keep an eye on the sky while you're out there, and know your route back in if things shift.
