There’s a reason we talk so much about glute strength at Get Flexy. Your glutes are some of the most powerful muscles in your body and they play a huge role in how well you walk, climb, squat, balance, get up and down, generate power and stay independent as you age.

In fact, the growing body of research around strength, muscle preservation, mobility and healthy aging is exactly why we added GLUTE LAB to our programming in January.

We don’t train glutes just to change how they look. We train them for what they allow you to DO.
✨Get up from a chair or the floor
✨Climb stairs
✨Walk and hike with confidence
✨Stabilize the hips and pelvis
✨Produce power for golf, pickleball and other activities you love
✨Squat, hinge, lunge and carry
✨Maintain strength and independence as the years go by
✨And glute training is much more than squats.

Our programming challenges the glutes through hip extension, stability, rotation control, single-leg work and loaded movement using exercises like deadlifts, bridges, step-ups, lunges, carries, bands and, yes, plenty of squats. Because longevity isn’t simply about living longer.

It’s about being strong enough to keep doing the things you love for as long as possible.
That’s why we created GLUTE LAB, around these parts we call it GAS LAB.

5 years ago Get Flexy was born to bring an accessible Yoga program to Wayne County. Over the last few years our program has changed & evolved as our community & space and our growing team of talented instructors & continued education has naturally elevated.

With our rebrand - we’ve also taken the time to enhance & refine our Yoga & Pilates program to bring you what your body may need on a given day.

Our Movement Collection has purpose, personality, clarity and intention. Each class is class is listed above with the description and who each class is best suited for. We’ve redefined our class descriptions to make it easier to choose the experience that meets you where you are.

Join us in congratulating Riley Skelton on passing her Registered Dietitian exam!!!!!! She has worked so hard over the last five years pursuing TWO degrees in Nutrition & Human Performance and now is a RD.

When we decided to expand nutrition coaching at Get Flexy, it was important to us that the person guiding our community bring a strong foundation of education, credentials and evidence-based expertise to the table. Nutrition is an important part of our health, and we believe the people who trust us deserve guidance from someone who has out in the work to become truly qualified in this field.

That person is Riley. Her passion for nutrition, combined with the knowledge and expertise behind her new RD credential, makes us incredibly proud to have her helping our community learn how to fuel their bodies for health, performance and everyday life.

Way to go, Riley. Please help us give our Registered Dietician a HUGE Congratulations🎉.
