Congratulations to our students, Aoi and Issei, who competed at the 17th Kanagawa Prefectural Karate Championship! Special thanks to Kugishima-shihan for hosting the tournament.

Both Aoi and Issei were seeded against tough opponents with more experience than them, but they fought bravely and gained valuable experience fighting in a tournament outside of the dojo, and we couldn't be more proud of them!

Congratulations to you both, and may this experience be just the beginning of a long and illustrious fighting record!

Tonight marked our first class at Honolulu Myohoji Mission, who has graciously granted us space for two classes a week. To mark our first night. A small group of students came after an earlier class at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i and trained again at our new space. This class we focused on utase and some experience with bare knuckle kumite to get a feel for the difference between bare knuckle and semi-contact and what it's like to hit and get hit without gloves.
