We can’t wait to see how quickly becomes more efficient and comfortable with her toes to bar technique. She’s just started training with and with consistent practice she’ll be making it look effortless.

We recommended that she lowers the target to a spot where she can link at least 5 unbroken reps, ideally even when in the middle of a workout. It’s fun to test how high we can set the target height, but bringing it down a little will help build the consistency of the movement. 💪⁣

Our other coaching tip for Kelli was to always begin with a full kipping swing cycle:⁣
- 𝐉𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐔𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰,⁣
- 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧,⁣
- 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝗪𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭.⁣
This sequence done every time will start every rep and set the same, and will help to stay centered under the bar. The key is contacting that target and snapping back into the extension position…aka “PULL YOUR FEET BACK DOWN AND REACH YOUR CHEST FORWARD”⁣

Weakness Work!

Toes to bar and double unders have been a big focus over the past year for me. A year ago I couldn’t do more than 1 toe-to-bar in a row and I just figured out double unders about 3 months ago

I have focused a lot on strict pulling strength for pull-ups and toes to bar which has improved my pull on the bar and my grip. In addition, I've tried to do at least 1 workout a week with GHD sit-ups in it, trying to hit ~100 reps or so to condition my core.

On the bar itself, I've used the to work on bigger sets while staying in rhythm. The Tink provides a nice target that is scalable based on your current skill level and capacity. The elastic band throws your feet back behind the bar for you which helps reinforce the quick hip extension needed once you hit the bar (or the Tink) to stay in rhythm with your kip. As you're able to string together sets of 3, 5 or even 10 T2B on the Tink, you can move it closer and closer to the bar. In workouts with T2B, I've challenged myself to do sets of at least 5, even if it means I need to rest longer and that may mean getting time capped on the workout

On the bar I’m cueing myself to aggressively squeeze the bar with a full grip and imagining pushing the bar towards my feet as much as I’m lifting my feet to the bar.
