Our first preseason race of the year! Malama Maoliola was a success, with our double hull crew taking 2nd place 🥳 Mahalo to all of our paddlers who showed up and showed out in honor of our sister Alyssa who wanted to be here today ❤️ We look forward to seeing her recover soon and get back on the water!

Our dear friend, and solid person and paddler Alyssa, was seriously injured in a hit-and-run while riding her motorcycle in Mākaha on March 30.

Anyone who knows her understands how much she gives—whether showing up for homeless outreach, supporting her canoe club ‘ohana, or giving back to the Native Hawaiian community.

We are raising funds to support Alyssa’s recovery and help cover essential, day-to-day expenses that arise during this time.

These contributions will help Alyssa and her family manage the immediate, real-life impacts of recovery.

All funds raised here will pay for any expenses not covered by insurance or potential legal damages.

This years crossing marked the 50th anniversary of the first wahine crews to make their journey across the Kaiwi Channel, and after more than a decade away, Honolulu Pearl returned to the Kaiwi Channel for the 2025 Nā Wāhine O Ke Kai!

Our participation wasn’t just about the miles — it was about dedication, community, abundance, health, and perseverance: a chance to celebrate and honor the women who paved the way and made it possible.

Huge mahalo to our Head Coach, coaches, ʻohana, and every wāhine who paddled before us — we carried your strength, support, and lessons with every stroke.

Thank you to for all your hard work and dedication — we’re grateful for everything you’ve done to make this possible

We are greatly appreciative of the Molokaʻi community that welcomed us with aloha, set us on the right foot, and made it happen.

Here’s to the ocean, the journey, and the sisterhood: Nā Wāhine O Ke Kai, see you next year.
