Bubblehead Wood Works

So there I am, with my truck, in my garage at it again. Doing this hefty task with no formal training or guidance. Just my instructions from the box, my tools and of course, YouTube.

Who knew (besides the thousands of professionals on this island) that tearing down the steering and suspension on a 4 x 4, 1/2 ton pick-up was so difficult? Not to mention, modifying cross-members, installing components that weren’t there before and a whole bunch of other stuff I had never done.

Needless to say, I finally finished it and even managed to not kill myself in the process or wave good-bye to a tire or 2 while doing 65 on the highway. Win, win if you ask me!

Nonetheless, I finished and found myself yet again twiddling my thumbs wondering, what kind of hands on DIY mischief can I get into next.

My neighbors, who live a few houses down, always have their garage open, with the sweet sound of saw blades spinning, sanders sanding, planers planing and chop saws chopping, echoing out of the bay door. It is loud, but a good kind of loud. That is when I decided to buy a circular saw and build my first speaker box. The woofer box project turned into a workbench, the workbench had babies, now there are other work benches; some with french cleats and TV mounts; those spawed tools, the tools had babies and now here I am.

Needless to say, I love working with my hands and I can sit here and type out a novel attesting to that, but it would only bore you to death (if not already) and if you love woodworking, you get where I’m coming from anyway.
