Last year was a HUGE change! Going from teaching yoga full time to and I being full time realtors. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but once we made the leap it was full speed ahead. In our first full year we ended up in the top 6% of Better Homes agents nationwide and winning the platinum award as a team. We still teach our regular yoga classes 2x a week to maintain our personal practice and keep time for ourselves.

๐Ÿฅ’Smashed Cucumber Salad๐Ÿฅ’
is one of our favorite go to recipes thatโ€™s refreshing, simple and quick. It can be enjoyed as a snack or sometimes weโ€™ll sit and eat a whole bowl of it as a meal. Want to make it a bit more hearty? Cook up some ramen or udon noodles and add them into the mix!

Ingredients
-2 Cucumbers
-4-5 Garlic Cloves
-1.5 tbsp Soy Sauce
-2 tbsp Sesame Oil
-3 tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
-3 tbsp Maple Syrup
-Salt
๐Ÿฅ’
Prep
Mince garlic into large bowl. Add Soy Sauce, Sesame Oil, Rice Wine Vinegar. Throw cucumbers over top and sprinkle with salt. Cover and shake super hard!
Enjoy!!!

No training and positive self talk is what the last three months has looked like.

After three months of almost no handstand training, no handstand push-ups, and an extra 20 minutes before teaching; I figured Iโ€™d warm up and see what 10 HSPU tries looked like. What happened was I finished in less than 15 minutes and only had a couple misses. Keep reading bc this get interesting......

When I was training regularly pointed out how self deprecating my self talk was during training. If I was having an off day or missed a rep I very vocally out myself down.
She asked me, โ€œWhy are you so encouraging to all the student in your class who are learning then come home and talk to yourself like this?โ€

The past three months even though I havenโ€™t been training handstands, Iโ€™ve been sharpening my internal dialogue and the body responded.

Movement happens to be the tool I utilize a lot in my personal growth practice. Maybe movement doesnโ€™t interest you or you donโ€™t have time, but youโ€™re a parent juggling a lot and your kids are being extra bratty. Check in with your personal dialogue, are you being bratty with yourself?

Every thought, word and action is reflected back to you and the universe is constantly giving you feedback on the energy you are emitting and how you are choosing to interact with it.

Fast forward to my last post; obviously different haircut and clothes ๐Ÿ˜‚ . Focus is on creating more stability, serving others, being a good lover partner to , communicating better, self development/awareness and daily movement to feel good and stay healthy.

It would be fun to have a conversation with myself from three years ago. Heโ€™d probably roll his eyes and tell me, โ€œno way man!โ€ But he just doesnโ€™t know yet!

This is a really fun pose that begins to feel really good with some practice; and it will get you really strong!!!! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช

Remember, this is a sped up one minute video that gives you a quick snapshot of how to progress with this movement. It will probably take you a couple of months before you start feeling some success with this.

1.) Warm up your wrists!!! Your full body weight on your wrist can be super intense, and getting them prepped is crucial to prevent injury.
2.) Go slowly! Hold each position as long as you can to really build strength. When going for balance it is CRUCIAL to lift the hand off the ground very slowly. The smallest shift is going to make it difficult to hold balance.
3.) Be consistent! The more challenging something is the more practice it requires. This is going to take regular weekly practice to build the strength and body awareness it requires.
4.) Have fun and celebrate your small successes!!!

I am definitely guilty of make my life harder than it needs to be sometimes, and getting on my mat is where I go to find peace, simplicity, and alignment.
As much as we think we can create everything on our own, no matter what there are always times we need support, and being humble enough to allow that support in, helps us find that space of peace, simplicity and alignment more easily.
We have a couple great measurement devices built into our bodies, that a very effective indicators of when its time to drop the ego and allow the support in.
Your breath; is it short? Youโ€™re probably working to hard, ask for help.
Your face; is your jaw sore and nose scrunched? I bet someone else might be more than willing to share some wise and meaningful advice.
Your shoulders; are they getting awfully close to your ears? Bet your friend would love to massage them for you to relieve the stress.
The things we practice on our mats become habits we bring off of it. Embrace support and see how much more enjoyable the process becomes.

Itโ€™s extremely difficult to contain in our awareness the many contradictions of being human. We easily fall into the temptation to over simplify the experience. When we see our flaws, we lose sight of our magnificence. When we recognize our beauty, we forget our pain and vulnerability. When our consciousness expands, we can know ourselves as one with God; when it constricts, we can feel lost in our pettiness. Yet both extremes, and everything in between, are part of the human experience, our experience, as both human and spiritual beings.

Putting on grown up clothes together and taking pictures. We never really dress up even before all this quarantine stuff so when we were walking out the door and in our elevator we kept looking at each other and telling the other one how good they look. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Goals are important.

They give us drive and purpose to create awesomeness in our life and in the lives of others.
The amazing thing about working towards big goals is the journey and process along the way.

What amazing unexpected blessings have come into your life through this process?

Take another breath and sit in gratitude for these blessings that are dropped into your journey.

Iโ€™m very guilty of being completely accomplishment driven and getting lost in the pursuit of tackling a goal. Itโ€™s a great way to burn out and gives the universe very little opportunity to bring you what you have claimed you desire.

These moments of surrender and gratitude are reminders along the way that its all falling into place. Keep taking inspired action and trusting the process.
